Harriet Edelman

Ms. Edelman was appointed to Assurant’s board of directors in August 2017. She serves as vice chair of Emigrant Bank, the largest privately held, family-owned and operated community bank in the U.S. She previously served as special advisor to the chair of the bank. From 2010 to 2021, she led the bank’s finance, information technology and credit administration operations. She joined the bank in 2008, after spending 29 years at Avon Products, Inc., rising to the roles of chief information officer, senior vice president of global supply chain and business transformation and executive committee member. Ms. Edelman currently serves on the board of Brinker International, Inc., a hospitality industry company. Over the past 20 years, Ms. Edelman’s public company board experience has included the retail chain Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., the biopharmaceutical firm UCB, Inc., software company Ariba, Inc. and confectionery company The Hershey Company.
